Yesterday the pool party BBQ thing was a lot of fun. I ate so much that I got the meat sweats. Not pleasant, but worth it.
I’ve been in need of a new acoustic guitar for like 10 years, so last night I found one!

New to the TSD family
I’m happy with it, and it sounds incredible. I’m not much of an acoustic guitar player, I love electric and always have, but I need the acoustic for different projects, and I’m going to use it to work on some of the new album while I’m camping this week. It’s nothing super special, just an Epiphone EJ200. Funny how majority of my guitars are Gibson or in the Gibson family (Epiphones are made in Korea whereas Gibson’s are only made in Nashville and Montana).
I’m heading out in a little bit to go camping up in Yosemite. Pretty excited about it too. I love making fires.
Things are quickly progressing with the band even though we’re supposed to be heading into the dead season. The album is coming together, we’ve got this LA show coming up in October, and now possibly some other stuff we just found out about yesterday. This new album… you’re going to love it.

Yesterday I made a type of scavenger hunt list of things to take pictures of around LA. I wanted to see if they might inspire some album artwork or something for when we get to that stage. My buddy Lambo joined me for the little adventure and we drove all over Los Angeles taking pictures of weird things on the list and odd things we saw. I don’t really know if anything turned out very good cause it was so dark. We had a decent SLR camera, but I don’t know if it was enough. Plus we won’t even know what type of visual vibe the album will have till it’s closer to being done. I did send 2012 a few tracks which I think are really cool. As does other people that have heard them. One is called “Souls” and the other is “Whatever We Are”. I’m getting really excited about this album. I’m dreaming about it lol.
I tried to avoid Labor Day BBQs but I failed. Today I’m going to a BBQ pool party in the valley where I used to live. It will be a lot of fun, but why is it I always fail and avoiding the BBQs on Labor Day!? Tomorrow I’ll head on up into the mountains to go camping and hunt big foot.
Watched “Let The Right One In” again late last night after the picture thing. That movie is so good. I really hope the US version isn’t stupid and full of like romance and action scenes. Why do we always butcher everything?
My sister is coming to visit like next week! I’m really excited. She’s only staying a couple days which sucks, but it’s better than nothing. We’re going to cause trouble! :)

Well I spent most of the day tracking a couple things for 2012 to go over for the new album. Good stuff indeed. We met up last night and drove to a party at the Arbor Skate shop in Venice. On the way we went over the album, different production stuff we’re going to do and all that. This album really is going to be incredibly cool. Last album we had to hold back, this one we don’t. We met Cory at the party and ended up walking out on the Venice pier to watch the waves and empty our souls like most dudes do after going to a skate party event thing lol. We mostly just talked about food. To the point where we spent like an hour talking about where to eat haha. We settled on a place called Baja Cabana right next to one of the Venice canals where him and 2012 got some food. I had a little of there’s cause I wasn’t hungry. In all it was a surprisingly boring yet fun night. I just can’t stop thinking about the new album and how I want to record it NOW!
I should be figuring out more Faceless International stuff and this Haiti trip. Maybe I’ll send an email after this. Our show is October 28th in LA at the Viper Room, so if you’re in the area spread the word. We need to raise a lot of money! :)
I’ll keep you posted on the new album progression. There is going to be a slight lineup change with the bands team, but nothing else is changing.
Goodbye.

Man last night was messed up. I had weird dreams all night interlaced with some music I’m working on so it was like an incomplete sound track I was trying to finish while walking around. One dream I traveled through time to my 8 year old self. That was really weird. I was at my parents house and people I never remembered staying there were there. I also figured I should take some long lost guitar gear back to the future with me so I started searching for my pedals. The other dream it was me, some old dude, and a little girl, and we were like ghosts or something that took over armies. I don’t know… it’s way confusing and hard to put in a blog.
I was up last night tracking some stuff for the new album. Sketches and concepts for 2012 to go over. I need to finish them up and email them over to him today if I can.
Looks like I’m going to a BBQ after all on Labor Day. I tried, but I failed. It’s a pool party movie night thing so I don’t know if I would count it 100% BBQ. It will be fun. Monday I’ll head camping and miss all the weekend warrior camp hogs.
I need to find out what’s crackin tonight. I’m feeling energetic.

I’ve lost all interest in news and media. I mean, I stay in it cause it’s apart of what I need to know or whatever, but it feels like I’m watching WWE wrestling knowing it’s fake with real elements to it. None of it is real real. It all has a financial angle, political angle…. all kinds of angles. It’s annoying.
I saw a black stallion in my dreams last night. That’s the 2nd dream I’ve had with large free roaming animals in it. The other night I killed a buffalo.
We’ve got an LA date lined up for a Faceless International show in October on the 28th at Viper Room. Need to raise more money for this Haiti event going on! Looks like we might be doing a Halloween show in San Diego as well if it works out. I’ll keep you posted of course.
Yesterday I was at the DMV for 4 hours. Yes, 4 hours. As were many other people I’m sure. Hundreds and hundreds of people. I’m still angry about it lol.
Meeting tonight with 2012 and Amelia about show stuff, then we’ll probably go do something or watch a movie… maybe skin a cat. That whole saying “skin a cat”, did people used to do that.. and why?
Got to bed pretty late last night and the dog woke me up with heavy breathing, whining, tripping over things, and wanting to go outside. Kind of annoying.
Just remembered…. I bought too many bananas and now they’re spoiling!
I still need to get my amp fixed too. There’s too many things and not enough bananas!

I went into the studio yesterday to talk to our buddy Greg about the new album and run some things by him. If all works out, this album process is going to be awesome and totally crazy. We would basically have full run of the studio facilities to run around covered in sprinkles and whatever. Freedom. Sounds promising, but we still have a ways to go in that area.
Last night 2012 stopped by with a rough cut of the tour documentary he made. That’s right, 2012 made a documentary. We here in The Suicide Denial are very well rounded in media arts lol. Or at least I like to think anyway. The doc was awesome and incredibly epic. It’s pretty funny too. I still have my copy so I might even go over it again. Good stuff.
I’m still getting back into the swing of things. After running around a bit yesterday and chillin with 2012 while he finished up the cut, I still felt a little out of sync. I’m getting back though. For some retarded reason I’m awake right now which is annoying. I should be sleeping still!
I need to go through my list of what’s going down today. I need to talk with my friend Mayra who works with The Offspring’s lead singer Dexter. Going to run some TSD stuff by her. Also waiting to hear back on this massive secret show we’re in the pot for this month. We would be opening for a HUGE band if we get it. Fingers are crossed.

Well that was interesting. Final date of the Spread Denial Tour was shot down after weeks of our management trying to find out what on earth was going on. This venue in Tucson Arizona called Skrappy’s booked and confirmed a date on our tour 2 months ago, then as things got close our booker noticed they hadn’t done any promotion at all, and hadn’t even listed that we were playing on their site. They called, emailed, myspaced, and got nothing in return. Finally they sent someone in to check on what was going on and the venue was like “we’re having trouble getting bands to open on that date”. Mind you they’ve had 2 months to find a local band lol. Regardless, they still wouldn’t tell us if the show was on or off. We get down to the final week, we’re in Santa Fe still waiting to hear if the show is on (this whole process is incredibly ghetto) and we get nothing. So we make it into Tucson, and yesterday we head into the venue to unload and play. We walk in and they’re like “oh yeah no show tonight”. They said it was because the Tucson bus system has been on strike for a week (mind you this has been a 2 month thing) and that nobody could get to the show. They paid, we left, and kicked it in Tucson last night. We ended up playing pool somewhere and making way too many trips to Wal Mart for some reason. I’m leaving for vacation tonight, and 2012 heads home tomorrow. The tour was incredible and we can’t wait to get back out. Looks like we’ll be doing another batch of shows in LA and up and down the coast before we head to Haiti with the Faceless International team. Then once all that wraps up, it will be the holidays, and then time to get the new album going!
Sorry to whoever showed up at the venue last night if you did manage to figure out what was going on. We would have played for you, but they weren’t sticking around their own venue lol. You win some and you lose some.

Well sushi in the desert was a little gross last night. I mean, most of it was good, but the straight sushi with no sauces or anything was rubbery and old tasting, so I kept burping it up all night and didn’t enjoy that. I dried to cover it with other foods later in the night, but it still kept pushing through. I’m hoping it’s done.
After sushi me and 2012 went over business stuff and plans for the new album. We’ve got a very busy fall/spring ahead of us. Still waiting to hear back from other parties that might get involved, so it’s rolling.
After our meeting we took Xia Ma (keyboards) and went UFO hunting in the Arizona desert. That is so incredibly creepy. We were on these desert roads in the middle of nowhere. No people, no lights, just narrow highways and stuff. Of course we didn’t see anything, so we headed back. It was still fun though. :)
Tonight is going to be such a treat. This venue we’re playing at called Skrappy’s here in Tucson Arizona has had 2 months to get their stuff together for tonight’s show, however there’s been ZERO promotion, and in fact nobody from the venue will return our calls or emails and this thing has been confirmed on paper for 2 months. We’re going to show up no matter what, and we’re going to perform even if there’s no other bands or people…. since NOBODY KNOWS WHAT’S GOING ON! It’s frustrating to say the least. I’ll be happy if someone opens the door. Then we’ll worry about the other details lol.
Worst case, we show up, knock on the door, try to break it down etc… then go do something in Tucson… or something.

After a long drive and almost falling asleep, we made it into Arizona. We play in Tucson tomorrow night, despite semi shady dealings between our booking agent and the venue. Since we’re sort of stuck in the middle of whatever is going on (the venue hasn’t even posted our date, let alone done an ounce of promotion), we’re just going to show up and play. Last I heard the venue couldn’t find any opening acts…. which is a little confusing to me, but no worries! We’re going to show up at the venue ready to rock. Whether they’re ready or not lol. Gotta love the code of ethics sometimes.
Last night was pretty chill once we arrived. Ate some BBQ wings and apple sauce, then relaxed. It’s really hot here, so maybe we’ll go swimming later. I prefer night swimming away from the sun, but if everyone else wants to go I might. I don’t know.
You been following the whole BP oil spill stuff? I guess all the oil is cleaned up and they’re cutting back crews haha. Yep, the largest oil disaster in history is all cleaned up. At least that’s what the media is reporting. I don’t believe anyone anymore unless I know them.
I think we might go UFO hunting tonight. We won’t see anything, but it’s fun roaming through creepy deserts at night.
I need to get some emails sent off so I should go. Don’t forget to find us on Facebook/Twitter/Myspace/YouTube and all those other sites and add us. We’ll hold you.
