I Think I Blew A Tube

July 30th, 2010 by cgerber

Last night was interesting to say the least. We had access to the venue here in Montana so we get setup late and did sound checks into the night. Close to us almost being done, my amp blew a fuse. No big deal right? Wrong. We went to Wal Mart (cause that’s where you go in these parts) and bought some fuses, took them back to the venue and blew some more. I called my amp people and they said it sounds like a blown tube. I’m not 100% I can find replacement tubes here in Billings, but I’m about to find out. Otherwise, it’s going to be a headache. My amp has never failed me, and technically it didn’t, the tubes did, but still it makes me uneasy.
Other than the whole amp issue which I hope to solve before the show, everything else looks ready to go. It’s going to be a really good show tonight. A lot of people seem to be excited about it, and of course we will deliver something. Maybe an amp on fire and sprinklers going off, but something.
I’m a bit tired, we finished up at like 4AM something this morning. I’m hoping 2012 isn’t still sleeping cause I need to get crackin on this.
